Ripping or crosscutting, this is the bench I choose! Will Myers originally brought this by the shop as a piece of hall furniture, but in his kindly manner mentioned that I could saw on it too. I started - and I haven't stopped!
Based on a Shaker original, this bench was intended for use as seating but with it's broad flat top makes an excellent sawing bench as well. Made of pine, this simple yet elegant design is rock solid with lapped dovetails and wedged mortise & tenon joinery will surely endure whatever you decide to do with it!
Materials: $40 paid directly to instructor on day of class

The dry-fitted (disassembled) bench might travel with you as checked baggage on some airlines. Please check with your carrier to see if this will work for you.
Ed Lebetkin in the tool store often coordinates shipping. You can make your own arrangements to ship the bench home, but when Ed helps, here’s how it works:
The bench fits in a box from the local home supply store. Anything that fits in the box can be shipped with it. Shipping costs depend upon weight and distance and generally runs between $40 and $70. Ed will need $30 for materials, packing, and delivery to FedEx or USPS. Shipping costs will be billed via email invoice for secure web based credit card payment.
