Starting with an axe - finishing with a cabinet scraper! About as much woodworking from wedge to edge as I can pack into two days!

This is my introductory class to traditional, hand-tool woodworking. We begin with riving raw timber and squaring stock with a plane. Then move onward through the essential techniques of woodworking, gaining more and more control over the grain as we go.

On the first day we'll make a pair of bench hooks, and then use them to help join up a little dovetailed box on day two. Through these small projects we'll learn how the intimate structure and behavior of wood guides what we make and how we work!
